By booking a session or using this website, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

Photography Services

Melanie Williams Photography offers custom maternity, newborn, family and milestone photography sessions, available in-studio or at selected outdoor locations within the Perth metropolitan area.

All sessions are guided by the photographer in a relaxed, professional environment, with an emphasis on natural connection, safety and timeless imagery.

Session fees cover the photographer’s time, experience, planning and use of equipment and props.
Session fees do not include digital files, prints, albums or artwork unless explicitly stated.

Bookings, Fees & Payments

A non-refundable session fee is required to secure your booking. Your session date is not confirmed until this fee has been received.

Full payment for all digital images, printed products and artwork is due at your gallery reveal and ordering appointment.

Payment plans may be available and must be arranged no later than the ordering appointment. Artwork production will begin once payment or an agreed payment plan is confirmed.

Outdoor Sessions & Locations

Outdoor sessions are weather-dependent. If conditions are unsafe or unsuitable (including extreme heat, rain, strong winds or poor light), your session may be rescheduled.

Locations are selected in consultation with the photographer to ensure the best light, safety and experience.

Outdoor environments are uncontrolled, and clients are responsible for supervising children at all times during the session.

Rescheduling & Illness

If you or a participant are unwell, please notify the photographer as soon as possible. There is no fee to reschedule due to illness, injury or weather conditions.

If a session must be rescheduled after it has commenced, a $50 rescheduling fee may apply.

If the photographer is unable to attend due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, your session will be rescheduled at the earliest available date.

Late Arrivals & No-Shows

Sessions cannot be extended due to late arrival. Any time lost will reduce shooting time and may affect the number of images presented.

Failure to attend a session without notice will result in forfeiture of the session fee. A new booking will require payment of a new session fee.

Gallery Delivery & Turnaround Times

Galleries are typically ready within 2–3 weeks of your session date, unless otherwise advised during peak or holiday periods.

Artwork production timelines vary depending on products selected and will be discussed at your ordering appointment.

Safety & Conduct

For newborn sessions, baby safety is always the highest priority. No pose will be attempted if deemed unsafe.

Parents are required to supervise siblings at all times during studio and outdoor sessions.

The photographer reserves the right to end a session if safety concerns arise.

Copyright & Image Use

All images remain the copyright of Melanie Williams Photography.

Clients who purchase digital images receive a licence for personal use only. Images may not be altered, cropped, filtered, or used for commercial purposes without written permission.

Copying, screenshotting or saving images from online galleries or social media previews is strictly prohibited.

Images may be used by the photographer for portfolio, website and marketing purposes only with client consent.

Digital File Responsibility

Once digital images have been delivered, clients are responsible for safely backing up and storing their files.

It is recommended that files are backed up in multiple locations (computer, external hard drive and cloud storage). Long-term archiving by the photographer is not guaranteed.

Liability

Melanie Williams Photography is not liable for:

• injury or accidents involving clients or children

• behaviour of children during sessions

• uncontrollable circumstances such as weather, illness or equipment failure

• babies who are unsettled or unable to be photographed as planned

Clients must disclose any relevant medical, developmental or behavioural concerns prior to their session.

Orders & Final Sale

Due to the custom nature of photography and printed artwork, all sales are final.
No refunds, exchanges or changes can be made once an order has been placed.

Any included credit (if applicable) will be applied at the ordering appointment and has no cash value.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers from Melanie Williams Photography are valid for three (3) years from the date of purchase, unless otherwise stated.

Gift vouchers:
• are not redeemable for cash
• cannot be exchanged or refunded
• cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer

Vouchers may be used at any time within their validity period and are subject to current pricing at the time of booking. Pricing is honoured for 30 days following your session.

Booking with a Gift Voucher

Session dates are subject to availability and book well in advance.

Newborn sessions should be booked during pregnancy to secure availability and take place weekdays between 9am–3pm.

Weekend sessions are available for family and maternity sessions only and are limited.

​

Voucher Inclusions

Any credit included with a gift voucher is deducted from the total order at the selection appointment.

Any bonus prints included:
• are chosen at the selection appointment
• cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash

Session fees do not include digital files, prints or products unless stated.
